Adventures in Color, More Copic ATCs

Orange Tapestry Sheep, 2.5″ x 3.5″
They call her Deeba because her wool is magically silky. She was born to normal Chokla sheep parents two days after a mysterious shaman passed through the village.

Earth Elemental Maiden, 2.5″ x 3.5″
This daughter of Gaia has a magical chameleon familiar who delivers messages and sometimes heals small animals.

Strange Chameleon Five, 2.5″ x 3.5″ Copics
Ari is a Wish Lizard. If you catch him (nicely), and know to feed him figs and dandelion, he will grant you a wish.

Strange Chameleon Four, 2.5″ x 3.5″ Copic
Her name is Julie Goolie and she is an insect archeology hobbyist.

More Artist Trading cards for various trades at illustratedatcs.com (where my handle is CindyD). These are some of my favorites, though I do think I am still overworking them somewhat. I may need to do another pair of complementary chameleons so I can make a print with all four. But I’ve also got to finish more sheep and foxes and maidens. Oh my. Oh! And I’m up to ten on the 100 Maidens project.

I’ve included some progression pics below (though I’m not doing a whole set for each and every card). And now I must get to work on my “Bounce” entry, for Illustration Friday. Thanks so much for stopping in for a visit! I think I have a pretty good rate of visiting back – but I can only do that if you leave your address.

Ah, Beast Tender, you have been busy! Do you know, I am totally in love with your Gnome Portal Kettle. Just what my kitchen needs!! I love your colourful gorgeous style, but it’s your fantasy and whimsy that really makes you unique.
Sorry I didn’t visit for a while. I had a deadline and a steroid shot in my shoulder. It didn’t hurt, but it didn’t cure me 100% either. Ah well. Physiotherapy coming up!

I just now realized something that has been true since I first saw your work on Etsy. You artwork makes me think of various complex flavors. I can imagine what each illustration would taste like if I could lick it or bite into it. Usually various kinds of fruit candy, but sometimes savory stews with exotic spices. Yummmmmm

Well my goodness, how lovely! I think some of the credit must go to these crazy Copic markers and their vivid color. Thank you!

I just had a nice romp through your recent posts, Cindy. You’ve branched out creatively! Congratulations! I like your maidens – they each have a quiet serenity, beyond the cool palette. Their undecorated faces balance the interesting hair and headdress detail. The open spaces are good … which is why I love your Blue Anteater from July 17.

Also, I like the effect of the white gel pen on King Charles and the Orange Tapestry Sheep. I think you’re onto something here. I love that juicy palette and drop shadow on Strange Cameleon Five. Bravo!

LOVE LOVE LOVE strange cameleon number 5. Could be the colours, could be the design or it could be the swirls? Could just be everything – brilliant! :)

well, alright, I will share my figs and dandelions with Ari, if only because he is the most beguiling of Wish Lizards and I do adore his shy emerald eyes. In fact they all sport juicy gemmy colors…Carnelian Deeba, Tourmaline Chameleon, Amethyst Ari and Jade Julie Goolie. A lovely treasury. :)
