Sometimes I want to post something that doesn’t go with the Illustration Friday topic. So I have to create a new thing that combines the thing I wanted to post with the weekly topic. Today I wanted to post the zombie cats and dogs I made this weekend for the Halloween-a-thon at illustratedatcs.com.
But the word at Illustration Friday is sky. So, I fooled around in paint.NET and ended up with the Infected Pet Kennel, giving guided tours nightly during a green zombie sky.
I am not a zombie person but I thought I would do one because people seem to like zombies a lot! And I thought, well maybe a dog zombie. Anyway, as you may have guessed it was super fun and then I made some more. :)
And then I couldn’t even trade them. But I am going to make a print of the four of them. And I am thinking about a metallic ACEO print set (my first)!

Hey, these zombie cats and dogs are very cool. They would make great cardboard halloween decorations for the front window.
Your illustrations just have so much personality! Always intriguing.
Scary, I wouldn’t want to meet one on a dark night!
These are inspired Cindy! What’s a Supernatural to do when turned if your pets can’t join in? Love’em!
Your posts always bring me a smile, Cindy! These guys are great! I would have thought a steampunk pilot would be in your sky realm. You are the queen of steampunk, after all! Great post!
Haha, thank you. I’m not sure what I would have done if I didn’t have zombies beasts to post. :)
Excellent Zombie Beasties! I know what you mean about warming up to zombies. I’ve never been able to watch a whole lot of horror movies in general (I already have too many nightmares!) but for some strange reason I’ve always loved the imagery nonetheless.
I love the way these guys are truly creepy yet retain their decorative edge…
Kind of sick, cindy, but I love it!!!! Would not want to meet any of those guys on a dark night! (Not without a flamethrower, anyway – that would be my weapon of choice. Not exactly sure why, but I’d feel a bit safer with it) Like how you made it work for IF, too!
Infected Pet Kennel night tours?! Haha, LOVE the tag-line!! I wouldn’t be taking that tour without a stake, a silver bullet, ahhh….I’m not sure what zombie dogs are taken down with.
Great scars, sneers, broken ears and metal gears.
They’re kind of like crazy zombie dog robots.
Creeeeeepy.
this one ( or more…those..!) is incredible!!
These are creepily fabulous and fabulously creepy!
I like your creepy side! Very appropriate for this time of year.
these are pleasantly severe…
You can really shift expectations now and again!
Dog number 1 with the scar running between the eyes is my fav.
.
I like your tougher side Cindy…these look pretty mouldy characters…bolts through the neck…classic!
Totally cool idea! Love your zombie night sky. Not sure if I would take a guided tour with those creepy characters…but then I’m a major scaredy cat!!
Haha, me too, which is why I never thought I would do zombies. And I probably still wouldn’t do people-zombies. But who knows!
Thanks so much for all the nice comments! My only concern is that someone stumbling on this blog for the first time might think I am a zombie-fiend. Nope. Mostly cute happy stuff around here. :)
Love the zombie dogs, from a non-zombie person as well. They look both appropriately grisly and upbeat and lively as well, and it works!
I also love the 100 Maidens project and your Steampunk maiden. Very inspiring!!
Cindy! You got all creepy for this one and I love it.. still retaining the signature Cindy style.
I would love to take that tour! I do love a zombie, and zombie pooches, even better!! :)
Happy Halloween with these latest critters! Your continued versality is amazing!! Love,Mom
These are very scary – but very cute.
Cool creepy characters! And a cool idea too! great!
Oh poor things. But good work.

Cindy, what has happened!!! I go away for two months and you join the undead? Nice idea having dog zombies, indeed – why doesn’t someone do a movie about that? Fido of the Dead. I await your next move breathlessly.
Thank you for your comment a few weeks ago. I did send you a reply, but used an old email address…
Gorgeous undead……wonderful for the season of zombies and monsters. I love this series and a metallic print would be perfect!! Would love to see these on a flag to put in the yard.
Great textures, colors and shades!
Eeeeeek! They scared me!
I am totally laughing! What a Halloween collection of art! Did anyone tell you how creative you are?!!!!
WOW! These are incredible! Talk about perfect for halloween…great work, Cindy..you are amazing! Thanks so much for your sweet visit recently..I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead and are working on some fun projects!
Oh my, those are some scary doggies! Love the details of all the scars and screws. Great work as always, Cindy.
Zombie dogs!!!! Haaaaahahahaha, that is awesome!!! Now I want to go watch Pet Cemetery. Have a super weekend!
Zombie cats and dogs, it never fails to amaze me on the characters you come up with. These are brilliant, as ever, and you pack so much detail into them.
