Yet Another Forest Creatures Art Cards Post

Perhaps it has become clear that I am not done with The People of the Forest. If you’re just joining us, the last two posts were also filled with ATC size humanoids and small details of their forest surroundings, the theme of a swap I recently started. Top row: Lavender Rabbit and Friend, and A Juvenile Forest Imp (his nose came out great I think!). Second row: Earnest Ernest, an antlered Pixie Troll, and Katje, a Forest Cat.

This makes a total of fourteen People of the Forest swap cards, as seen below all together. (This doesn’t even include a few landscape-oriented cards, a few that didn’t quite turn out as intended, and two foxes who have moved to the suburbs which I will post later!)

People of the Forest is a super fun theme I most heartily recommend, particularly if things and people and politics in the real world are not contributing to your well-being in a positive fashion.

    Gorgeous, Cindy. I’m not familiar with gel pens. I’ll have to check them out. What kind of paper do you use? What is a “swap card?”

      Hi and thank you! A gel pen takes the place of a troublesome tiny brush and white paint to add highlights to ink drawings. You can find many brands but the very best I’ve found is the Uniball Signo. A bit pricey! And the tip clogs! But the coverage is good. Others tend to be slightly more translucent.

      By “swap card” I mean ATCs for an online artists swap group. An ATC, or Artist Trading Card, is a 2.5″ x 3.5″ tiny work of art that is often gifted or traded. (If you sell an art card, it is called an ACEO – Art Cards, Editions and Originals.) I think Wikipedia has a decent write-up of ATCs if you want more info. AND, if you are interested in joining the site for some swaps with other artists, feel free to join illustratedatcs.com! (You will have to apply with examples of your work, but that will be no problem! Here is a link to the gallery so you can see the other work at the site.) :)

    Wow Cindy! You latest selections are amazing! There’s no end to your creative visions….I love all 14…..its becoming quite a collection. I HOPE you are reproducing them for Etsy! Honestly these are way too nice for swapping…….

    I think my favorite out of this set is Lavender Rabbit because of her glowing eyes…….

    I agree with the other commenter’s, what a lovely series, it makes me think of wonderful stories of imps and pixies and a whole other world of wonderful forest and fairytale folk and all the adventures they could have.

    Whoah! Always a pleasure visiting your blog Cindy. I don’t always get the chance, but am never disappointed when i do. I think this series is great!!!! The Lavender Rabbit is a fave of mine ( what a suprise I know). I would love to see more!
