The Princess Violet, Sheep and Songwriter

Princess Violet and Fiona Riona Bologna
Each 2.5″ x 3.5″ Copics, fine liners, white gel pen

The Princess Violet was a difficult sheep child, a source of rarely ending exasperation for Fiona, her governess. When feeling particularly cheeky or impatient with her studies, Violet would sing little songs about a wise old fruit seller called Fiona Riona Bologna who sometimes played matchmaker to a succession of curious characters in a small Italian village.

What fun! I want to know more about the”difficult sheep child” because her portrait is wonderful! Her poor governess, she looks so very weary of it all:)

Hahahaha, oh dear Cindy, your fun ideas and whimsy-wonderfulness are both never-ending! Fiona Riona Bologna indeed. I love the repetition of altered squares in the background and shirt of first and lines in the 2nd. Did you plan that or does such things just flow out without having to think about it?

I’ve been trying to add more in the way of backgrounds. Thank you for noticing! Sometimes it gets sketched but usually it’s the last thing. :)

Wonderful and humorous imagination! I love the story and am curious to here more of it. Violet and Fiona look like quite the characters. The repeated patterns and lines are delightful. It is really neat how you showed the steps. What did you use to create the “video”? Thanks for making me smile and for sharing!
