Dangit, I was sure I’d have more done by now. This is still not finished! But I did spend more time on this one so far than any of the earlier ones. And here’s progress pics! The first one is just as it ended last week, with the addition of the dark background.
Maybe one thing I could have asked myself before this would be, “do you think she will look like a zombie if I put grey over green?” Because yes, I did that, and yes, she does look like a zombie. Which is not my favorite. I almost abandoned it here. But instead, I pressed on!
I decided on yellows and browns for the next layer but the features are looking much more stiff and I switched to the hair for a bit before deciding how to finish (?!) this face.
Thanks for stopping in! Hello to Paint Party Friday!
I love this face in any color.
It’s fun to see the different skin tones on the same face. She’s looking great!
Hello Cindy, I am so sorry I didn’t respond to you earlier! I can’t get eblogger to let me reply to people’s comments or even leave my own (?!?!!) I love what you’re doing and I checked out Paint Party Friday – thank you for the invite. But I also got more science work and am doing an online natural history illustration course (I drew a walnut this week!) (but it was a very complicated walnut). Maybe when I get my head above water. I think the more you layer this painting up, the more interesting it gets … the lower layers are showing through… nice to have depth so I wouldn’t be in a hurry!
Interesting combinations
So beautiful! You have such a distinct style in your acrylic portraits that’s so different from your other art but they’re both so YOU! Colour me impressed!
Wow! I am loving seeing the transition of this painting! Very cool!
You are amazing! I love this.
Your use of color and shading are extraordinary! Wowzerz!
